Meanwhile in Japan

I don’t even know what the fuck is going on in this video. Usually I’d have a funny one-liner about edamame and eel teriyaki rolls or some shit but I’m just confused.

PS. I’m pretty sure I could move to Japan and start a super twisted TV show and become a millionaire and just fuck tiny asians for the rest of my life.

Why I don’t fuck with Steve Jobs. By @Wave_Bandana

I’ve kept extremely quiet on the subject matter. I ignored the thousands of tweets and status updates, my friends’ comments, and the constant television coverage. I walked by newsstands every morning to see the same goddam black & white Steve Jobs head shot on every major media publication, and I didn’t even flinch. I even let @oakshades turn my own blog into a fucking memorial for the day.

I didn’t say one word. Not a Peep. Mostly it was out of respect for the dead. I don’t think it’s ever fair to trash someone that can’t defend themselves properly. But at the same time, I don’t think death excuses one for being accountable for their actions. Death is not a get out of jail free card. That’s a suicide mentality; “If I kill myself, all my problems will go away”. I do not fuck with suicide or that mentality at all.

As frustrated as I was, I still kept my mouth shut. Then I saw some idiot at Occupy Wallstreet with a WWSJD (what would Steve Jobs Do) sign. I’ve had enough with this shit.

What would Steve Jobs do?

Actually, not very much at all, except maybe ravage an entire population for all their worth. But, before I get into that, let’s start with a little test.

What is Steve Job’s major charity?

Anything? Any thoughts at all? Okay let’s try something easier. Just name any charitable work or contributions you remember Steve Jobs making. I’m not even talking about organizing or fully funding, just name anything Jobs was associated with.

Anything? Don’t Google. Just one thing! This is easy! Take Your Time!

If you wondering why you can’t think of one thing he did to better this planet or any society with all that money he has, it’s because HE DIDN’T DO SHIT.

“To see crying and mourning over the loss of one person who did little or nothing for the health and well-being of any society — and in fact used his immense wealth to put himself on multiple states’ organ waiting lists to merely prolong his own life rather than fund research for the disease that affected him — seems fucking absurd.”

One of the better quotes I read. Too often I think people hear about the philanthropy of say a Bill Gates and assume that everyone in similar positions does the same. Bill Gates is a real philanthropist. He’s already donated 600 BILLION dollars. The above graphic is somewhat true. He literally almost eradicated a horrific disease. I say somewhat true, because he in fact is pledging 95% of his wealth to help others, not 90%. Bill Gates didn’t just write checks either, he goes to these fucking places, meets these fucking people he plans to help, and solves real problems. He didn’t just write a check to these countries for fucking “clothing” and Tom’s Shoes, he went there and said “wow, these people need fresh water. That’s going really start putting this nation on track. What can we build TODAY to bring in fresh water to this impoverished country?” Then he went and fucking did that shit. THAT is what I expect from any CEO with this type of power.

Oh but wait, Steve Jobs is the greatest CEO of our generation! Right? That’s what I keep seeing and hearing.

Go fuck yourself.

“Apple’s success has been built literally on the backs of Chinese workers, many of them children and all of them enduring long shifts and the specter of brutal penalties for mistakes.”

This, my friends, is a disturbing fact. YES it is on record that Jobs was aware and did nothing about it. When it comes to committing atrocious crimes against a population and child labor (and getting away with it), yes, Steve Jobs is the greatest CEO of all time.

Apple’s factories in China have regularly employed people below the legal work age of 16 at grueling hours. That’s according to Apple’s own 2010 report about its factories in China. In 2011, Apple reported that its child labor problem had worsened. You guys probably missed this story last year because of the IPhone coming to every service carrier, but a reporter for the Daily Mail was able to sneak into the factory. This is some of his report:

“With the complex at peak production, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet the global demand for Apple phones and computers, a typical day begins with the Chinese national anthem being played over loudspeakers, with the words: ‘Arise, arise, arise, millions of hearts with one mind.’… With other company slogans painted on workshop walls – including exhortations to ‘achieve goals unless the sun no longer rises’ and to ‘gather all of the elite and Foxconn will get stronger and stronger’ – the employees work up to 15-hour shifts… Down narrow, prison-like corridors, they sleep in cramped rooms in triple-decked bunk beds to save space, with simple bamboo mats for mattresses… Despite summer temperatures hitting 35 degrees (Celsius), with 90 percent humidity, there is no air-conditioning. Workers say some dormitories house more than 40 people and are infested with ants and cockroaches, with the noise and stench making it difficult to sleep.”

This is your hero? This is the greatest CEO of all time? He cut corners like any other greedy CEO scum out there. His practices were identical to any of those that most of you hippies supposedly hate. He EASILY could have provided safe working conditions and a decent living standard. Hell I’m not asking for a Bill Gates above and beyond aid here, just a decent place you would expect an uber rich man to provide for the people making his “dreams” and “visions” actually come to life.

Before I wrap it up, here’s a few more fun facts:

• In 2010 Apple has admitted that child labor was used at the factories that build its computers, iPods and mobile phones.
• At least eleven more children were discovered to be working last year in three factories which supply Apple after they admitted it and supposedly ended this.
• Near the end of 2010 it emerged that 62 workers at a factory that manufactures products for Apple had been poisoned by n-hexane, a toxic chemical that can cause muscular degeneration and blur eyesight.
• As late as August 2011, Apple still hadn’t cleaned up it’s toxic act.
• Apple supplier Foxconn became the focus of global attention last year after a spate of worker suicides. The new report claims that three of its factories have broken environmental rules.
• On May 20, 2011 an explosion at Foxconn’s Hongfujin Chengdu factory – which manufactures the iPad2 – killed three workers and injured 15. It subsequently came to light that the plant’s eight buildings, covering 250 mu (more than 166,000 square metres) had been constructed in only 76 days.

Quick side note, Apple is supposed to be this company that promotes “self-expression” yet Jobs has banned from being installed on his devices gay art, gay travel guides, political cartoons, Congressional candidate pamphlets, political caricature, Vogue fashion spreads, systems invented by the opposition, and other things considered morally suspect.

– Wow, I’m not even going to get into this one, so many conspiracies theories, I don’t even know where to begin. But I promise if you really take a second to think about their company mission, combined with this little tidbit, I promise you this small section of the blog will haunt you the most.

Now, just to make things clear, I don’t hate Steve Jobs. I appreciate a lot of what he has done, most of the positive stuff I’ve seen and read about since his passing is indeed true and I fully support and agree with it. I do think in some ways he is a genius and in limited ways he is a role model for entrepreneurship. I don’t go around cursing his name, and rarely do I ever open up. But I am shocked that most of you don’t know what a selfish, terrible man he was at times. How can you have that much money and power, and not choose to help people? I’m not expecting him to be Ghandi here, but it’s incomprehensible that he has so little to show for it. So many lives he could have impacted, and not just with new software to play Angry Birds on. Instead of helping others, he wouldn’t even create a healthy living standard for his abused employees. He let children, mothers, and fathers die. Just give them a decent place to work! What kind of sick, rich, bastard wouldn’t make the extra effort there? Someone who cares about money and success over human rights. I just can’t continue to watch you idiots praise him and hail him as the greatest CEO of all time. By no means is he even close. You can’t treat poor, desperate children like shit and be the greatest CEO ever!!! It’s insane! It’s not like he made these sacrifices for a greater good, we’re talking about fucking I-Pads here!

I guess when it comes down to it, I feel like we excuse Jobs because he made a lot of cool shit. What an appalling message to send out to the current and future leaders of big business; that’s ok to be completely socially irresponsible, because when you die your achievements will outweigh any abominations or human neglect. If we’re ever going to really spark social change and hold the top 1% accountable for their actions, it’s not going to come from some hippie rally on Wall Street. It’s going to come from everyone holding these people socially accountable. DEAD or ALIVE.

“A company can be judged by how it treats its lowliest workers. It sets an example for the rest of the company or in Apple’s case, the world.”

Coach Ballgame

I don’t know why but I cannot stop laughing at this video.

Coach Ballgame: “You ever have Texas Toast?”
Kid: “I’m not sure what that is”
Coach Ballgame: “It’s really big toast”

Coach Ballgame: “What kinda math are you in right now? Pre-Algebra?”
Kid: “Aahh no I’m doing geometry”
Coach Ballgame: “You guys cover photosynthesis yet?”

3:30 – 3:43 = the best 13 seconds of my day so far.

I can’t believe that’s not Kelly Osbourne bitching about butter.

Is there anything worse then a restaurant not providing enough condiments for your meal? The audacity of some places charging for BBQ sauce is wild. Not giving someone enough Butter for their corn is plain evil. I’m with the fat broad with clown makeup on this one. Buttered corn > not buttered corn so ipso facto she is correct.

PS. How amazing are british accents? Everything just sounds so much more dignified even blatant uncalled for racism in the name of buttered corn.
